Hamilton & District Council of            Co-operative Preschools Integration Program:

This program opened in 1979 in response to requests from a number of Co-op Preschools for support around integrating children with special needs. Our mandate is to facilitate the physical, intellectual, social and emotional development of children with special needs in an inclusive setting within member co-operative preschools.

We are a participating member of the Integration Resources Hub. This provides us with access to the following further supports:

  • Intake
  • Support Facilitators
  • Specialized Resources
  • Classwide social skills program

Services provided by the Integration Program are funded by the City of Hamilton and therefore offered at no cost to families. For further information, contact the Program Co-ordinator at:

At times preschool programs may be assigned an additional support person in the classroom to meet the diverse developmental needs of a particular child or group of children.  These staff are called Support Facilitators.  For more information about eligibility for your program or child, please contact our program.

Our Referral Process

Children are referred to our program with parent consent by preschool staff, resource teachers, as well as doctors and clinicians from our community partner agencies. Parents can also inquire about services for their child.  For more information about what to expect if concerns are identified click here.
