What should I do if I have concerns about my child's development?
If your child is already enrolled in a Co-operative Preschool...
speak
to your child's preschool teacher with your concerns
your preschool teacher will ask you
to sign a consent form giving he/she permission to discuss your concerns with the Resource Teacher assigned to the program
if a Resource Teacher is not assigned, the preschool teacher will contact the Integration Program to request a consultation
from a Resource Teacher
the Resource Teacher will be assigned, based on availability, and will
make initial contact with the family prior to visiting your child at the preschool program
If your child's teacher has concerns about your child's development...
your child's teacher will approach you if they have concerns about your child's development
with consent, the teacher will speak to the Resource Teacher affiliated with the preschool
if
there is not a Resource Teacher already affiliated with the program, the teacher will make a request for a consultation
from the Integration Program
the Resource Teacher will contact you to discuss the concerns and
next steps (i.e. developmental screen)
